Abstract
Objective: To characterize the clinical-epidemiological profile of pregnant women with congenital heart disease treated at a reference hospitalin Northern Brazil. Methods: This is are search with a quantitative approach, of the documentary type, descriptive and retrospective cross-sectional, carried out fromJune to September 2024. There search was carrie dout through the analysis of electronic and physical records of 284 pregnant women diagnosed with heart disease congenital and treatedin the hospital. The selection of medical records was done intentionally, with a convenience sample. Data collection was carried out using a pre-established instrument with open and closed questions. Results: The analysis of the sociodemographic profile reveals a predominance of young, single pregnant women with complete secondary education, 64.08% of the pregnant women analyzed had a family history of heart disease, 70.42% of them received cardiological monitoring before pregnancy, but only 32.39% required adjustments in cardiac medication during pregnancy. Conclusion: Monitoring these pregnant women proved to be largely effective. The conclusions highlight the need for public policies that streng then specialized prenatal care, especially invulnerable regions such as the Amazon.
