Abstract

Objective: Review the literature on the efficacy of immunobiologicals in the treatment of psoriasis, identifying the main drugs used, their therapeutic outcomes, adverseeffects, and the impact on patients´ quality of life. Literature review: The results demonstrated that immunobiologicals are highly effective in the treatment of moderate to severe psoriasis, improving the symptoms and quality of life of the patient. However, it is necessary to pay attention to contraindications and comorbidities that may alter the prognosis of the treatment. Final considerations: Biologic agents have proven effective in the treatment of moderate to severe psoriasis acting specifically on the immune system and promoting clinical improvement and enhanced quality of life for patients. Recent studies confirm their superiority over other therapies but emphasize the importance of considering contraindications, comorbidities, and individualized treatment approaches. There is a notable lack of research involving age groups outside of adulthood, which limits therapeutic options for children, adolescents, and the elderly. Additionally, the high-cost limited availability of these medication through the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) hinder acces, highlighting the need por public policies tha expand availability and reduce disparities in psoriasis treatment.
