Abstract

Objective: Analyze the clinical and epidemiological profile of women diagnosed with endometriosis attended at the gynecological surgery outpatient clinic in a public hospital in Pará, between the years 2022 and 2024. Methods: Descriptive observational, cross-sectional, quantitative study conducted based on data from medical records of patients with endometriosis at a Municipal Public Reference Hospital in Belém-PA. Results: 87 medical records of patients with endometriosis were included. Most patients were aged 40-50 years (41.4%), of brown skin color (95.4%), single (69%), and had completed high school (43.7%). The most frequent complaint was pelvic pain (70.1%). Regarding contraceptive use, 81.6% had used or were using contraceptives; the largest group was nulliparous women (39.1%), with no history of spontaneous abortions (81.6%). The most affected site was the uterosacral ligaments (66.7%). The main diagnostic method was ultrasound with bowel preparation combined with pelvic magnetic resonance imaging, used in 54% of patients. Conclusion: The study highlights the importance of understanding the clinical and epidemiological profile of women with endometriosis; thus, healthcare professionals can develop strategies for early diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
