Abstract
Objective: To high light the prevalente themes in the literature on heart transplantation. Methods: Integrative review carried out in six stages with a search in two data bases. The final sample included 21 studies. The Rayyan – Intelligent Systematic Review® application was used to select the articles, following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyse (PRISMA) flowchart. The ST reng the ning the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE) checklist was adopted as a methodological verification guide. The level of evidence was classified according to the Oxford Center Evidence-Based Medicine system. The interpretation of the results was conducted in a qualitative and descriptive manner. Results: The studies analyzed were grouped into four main themes: heart graft preservation strategies (28.6%); pre-cardiac transplant factors related to survival (23.8%); profile of patients under going heart transplantation (19%) and factors influencing adult post-cardiac transplant survival (28.6%). Conclusion: Heart transplantationis a complex intervention that requires careful selection of candidates and complex perioperative preparation with a focus on therapeutic adherence. Advances in therapies are essential for managing the factors that impact on survival.
