Abstract
Objective: To identify, in the scientific literature, the most relevant topics on childhood vaccination with a view to health education. Methods: This is an integrative review carried out in the Virtual Health Library, National Library of Medicine, Scientific Electronic Library Online databases between October and November 2024, where 945 articles were found and of these, 15 were selected. Results: For a better understanding, the results were condensed into 2 categories: Source of information and decision for vaccination and Barriers related to delays and non-vaccination. Final considerations: The study highlighted the importance of seeking information from health professionals, ensuring its reliability and, consequently, adherence to vaccination. In addition to pointing out barriers to vaccination such as unofficial sources, the dissemination of fake news and the number of vaccines applied demonstrate the urgency of persistent educational actions aimed at promoting and strengthening initiatives that encourage parents and caregivers to vaccinate their children.
