Abstract
Objective: To summarize the existing evidence on Advanced Practice Nursing actions in Primary Health Care worldwide. Methods: A systematic review was carried out that followed the PRISMA Statement (2020), based on a review protocol registered in PROSPERO under ID: CRD42022301785, in the databases: ScienceDirect, Scopus, Pubmed, Web of Science, CINAHL and EMBASE, using the following search expression: ((“Advanced Practice Nursing” OR Nursing OR “Nursing specialties”) AND “Primary Health Care” AND “Public Health”). Descriptive studies published in English, with no time limit, that answered the research question were included. The ACROBAT-NRSI and GRADE-CERQual instruments were used to analyze the risk of bias and the quality of the evidence, respectively. Results: A total of 11,648 publications were identified, which after screening resulted in 65 articles for full reading and 15 manuscripts selected for qualitative synthesis. The results found demonstrated the development of advanced practice nursing in Primary Health Care in different continents, highlighting barriers and facilitators in its implementation. Final considerations: The study makes it possible to understand the development of advanced practice nursing in different global scenarios, sharing its main possibilities and challenges.
