Abstract
Objective: To analyze the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of Nursing and Medical students regarding antimicrobial use and antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and to understand how these topics are incorporated into academic curricula, considering planetary health and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Methods: This is an integrative literature review, with searches conducted in PubMed, SciELO, and Scopus, following PRISMA-P guidelines. Results: Of the 22 articles analyzed, 9 were included. A limited and fragmented technical understanding of rational antimicrobial use was observed. A paradox in attitudes emerged: although students recognize AMR as a problem, many underestimate their role in addressing it. Curricula were found to be insufficient, highlighting the need for tailored educational interventions and strengthened interprofessional education. Final considerations: AMR is a critical global threat. Enhancing curricula and fostering interprofessional collaboration are essential to train professionals capable of promoting planetary health and mitigating the impacts of AMR.
