Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the effect of two approaches, which can be disseminated virtually, on the knowledge of teachers and school staff in early childhood education regarding emergency management in cases of traumatic dental injuries (TDIs). Methods: This is a longitudinal intervention study. The sample consisted of 31 teachers and school staff from early childhood education in public and private schools in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, who answered a structured questionnaire online, through the Google Forms platform, before (T0) and after (one week: T1 and three months: T2) the implementation of educational interventions (pamphlets and videos) on TDIs. Cochram's Q test and Friedman's ANOVA were used to compare each educational intervention in the three moments evaluated. Results: After the use of educational interventions (pamphlets and videos) to transmit information, there was a general improvement in perceptions, attitudes and knowledge about TDIs. When comparing the two interventions, the video stood out in improving teachers' general knowledge in the short term (p<0.001). Conclusion: Although both groups demonstrated clear improvements in knowledge and attitudes towards a DLT, the video proved to be more effective.
