Abstract
Objective: To identify, describe, and analyze the national scientific production on the reporting of sexual violence against women in Brazil, highlighting the main victim profiles, characteristics of the perpetrators, contexts of violence, and challenges faced by health services in properly registering these occurrences. Methods: This is an integrative literature review, with a search conducted in the SciELO database in May 2025, using the descriptors “Sexual Violence” AND “Reporting” AND “Women.” Articles published in Portuguese and English, with free and full access, between 2018 and 2023 were included. After applying eligibility and exclusion criteria, nine articles were selected for analysis. Results: The studies reveal that the most frequently reported victims are adolescents, pregnant women, and Black women with low education levels. The perpetrators are mostly men known to the victims, and the home is the most frequent setting for the assault. Underreporting remains a major barrier, associated with weak care pathways, lack of professional training, and regional disparities. Conclusion: The review highlights the importance of reporting as a strategic tool for tackling violence but points out structural limitations in services. Investing in training and integrated protocols is essential to break the cycle of invisibility surrounding sexual violence.
