Abstract
Objective: To analyze the available evidence in the scientific literature on teaching strategies aimed at healthcare professionals for managing patients diagnosed with brain death and conducting the process of organ and tissue donation for transplantation. Methods: An integrative review was conducted using four databases, including articles published between 2010 and 2025, in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Data collection took place between March and April 2025. Results: Nine articles were included, published between 2013 and 2023, originating from Brazil, Italy, Canada, India, the United States, and Spain. The diversity of contexts analyzed allowed for a comparison of the educational strategies employed. The evidence demonstrates that structured educational interventions are effective in improving healthcare professionals’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices in the organ and tissue donation process. Final considerations: Ongoing training of healthcare teams is essential to strengthen ethical and technical approaches in cases of brain death, increase the effectiveness of donations, and foster an institutional culture supportive of donation and transplantation. Continuous investment and innovative approaches are emphasized, with education as a central pillar in promoting a donation-oriented culture.
