Abstract

Objective: To explore and analyze the evidence on personalized approaches in the planning and execution of skin grafts in patients with severe burns, aiming to identify the main factors influencing patient recovery and quality of life. Methods: This study is an integrative literature review conducted following the PVO strategy. Searches were performed in the PubMed Central (PMC) database using specific terms, resulting in 529 articles. After applying inclusion criteria—articles from the last five years related to the topic—13 articles were selected. Results: Burn treatment has advanced with the use of autologous grafts, dermal substitutes, cell therapies, and biosynthetic dressings. These approaches improve healing, reduce pain, scarring, and hospital stay duration. Negative pressure therapy and techniques such as “cover-to-close” also showed positive outcomes. Future studies are needed to standardize indications and validate clinical effectiveness. Final considerations: Further research and continuous professional development are necessary to improve the quality of life of patients with severe burns.
