Abstract
Objective: To investigate how hospital physiotherapy teaching has used realistic simulation as a learning method. Methods: This is an integrative review carried out in the BVS, PubMed and Connected Papers databases. Studies without date or language restrictions were included, focusing on the application of realistic simulation in hospital physiotherapy teaching. Studies from other areas, using virtual reality or that did not address the topic were excluded. Eight publications were analyzed after eligibility criteria were met. Results: The included studies were organized into two main groups: 1) Students' perception of simulation, evidencing increased confidence, engagement and empathy; 2) Simulated internships or simulated situations in hospital physiotherapy, providing acquisition of clinical and interprofessional skills. Simulation with standardized patients proved to be more effective in learning than other forms (mannequins or virtual). Interprofessional simulation reinforced communication and collaboration between health areas. Final considerations: Realistic simulation is effective in hospital physiotherapy training, promoting safety, confidence and the development of clinical and interpersonal skills.
