Abstract

Objective: To review the scientific literature on current evidence regarding the treatment of Wild-Type Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST Wild Type). Methods: This is an integrative literature review based on the PICO strategy. Searches were conducted in the PubMed and BVS databases, including studies published between 2011 and 2024. From na initial total of 142 articles, 10 met the established inclusion criteria. Results: GIST Wild Type exhibits low responsiveness to standart first-line therapy for GIST due the absence of KIT and PDGFRA mutations. Its treatment depends on identifying molecular subtypes to guide targeted therapeutic strategies. There are no universally accepted protocols or therapies with confirmed efficacy for this subgroup. Final considerations: The reviewed literature emphasizes the lack of standardized and effective treatment approaches for GIST Wild Type. These findings underscore the urgent need for further molecular and clinical research to better understand the disease and to develop specific, evidence-based treatment strategies for affected patients.
