Abstract

Objective: To evaluate multidisciplinary teams providing care to the LGBTQIAPN+ community, focusing on the development of interprofessional practices in healthcare. Methods: This was an evaluative study with a qualitative and quantitative approach, using a questionnaire adapted from the Readiness for Interprofessional Learning Scale (RIPLS), structured around three pillars: Teamwork and Collaboration (TEC), Professional Identity (PI), and Patient-Centered Care (PCC). Responses were collected using a 5-point Likert scale, ranging from "strongly disagree" to "strongly agree." Results: Twenty-eight professionals participated, and 82% completed the questionnaire. Of these, 96% had never completed similar instruments. Higher-level professionals were in the Comfort Zone for TEC and PCC, but in the Alert Zone for PCC. Technicians demonstrated comfort only with PCC and also alertness regarding PCC. Furthermore, 73% of higher-level professionals reported prior experience with interprofessionality. Conclusion: Interprofessional practice is still in its early stages of consolidation. The main weaknesses lie in the development and strengthening of professional identity, a key factor in integrating and improving teamwork in care for the LGBTQIAPN+ population.
