Abstract
Objective: To report a case of diastema closure. Case detail: This is a clinical case report of a 23-year-old male patient who presented with interdental spaces between teeth 11, 12, 21, and 22. The treatment began with dental impressions and photographic records for the development of a diagnostic wax-up, based on digital smile planning. The patient then underwent three sessions of in-office tooth whitening, followed by direct composite resin restorations using a silicone guide. The stratification technique was employed, combining translucent, chromatic enamel, and dentin resins to achieve a natural and harmonious esthetic result. The treatment successfully restored the patient's smile, improving facial harmony and self-esteem. Final considerations: Diastema closure with composite resin proved to be an effective esthetic approach with good clinical predictability. However, it presents limitations such as the need to balance tooth proportions to avoid esthetic disharmony and the technical precision required to prevent gingival contour irregularities that could favor plaque and food accumulation.
