Abstract

Objective: To analyze the impact of mobile applications on screening and care management for people with neurocognitive disorders associated with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Methods: An integrative literature review was conducted using PubMed, LILACS Plus, CAPES Journals, and Semantic Scholar databases. This study included studies involving patients with neurocognitive disorders associated with HIV, published in English, Portuguese, or Spanish between 2014 and 2024 in indexed journals. Results: The results were analyzed descriptively. Four hundred and sixty-eight articles published in national and international journals were selected after three phases of evaluation: selection, reading, and eligibility. Fifteen were analyzed, and five were ultimately included. All five studies demonstrated efficacy in neurocognitive screening for people living with HIV. The applications demonstrated sufficient acceptability and practicality for professional use in diverse clinical settings, even with limited resources. Conclusion: This integrative review identified that, in intervention studies, the detection rates of neurocognitive disorders were comparable to those of gold standard tests, but there were limitations in the management of care for people living with HIV.
