Abstract

Objective: To develop and obtain evidence of content validity for the web stories and evaluative questionnaires designed to identify dietary consistency levels. Methods: This methodological study was conducted in three distinct stages: (1) development of the web stories; (2) construction of the evaluative questionnaires; and (3) content validation by a committee composed of six experts and six individuals with oropharyngeal dysphagia. The web stories addressed dysphagia, its main consequences, and the internationally standardized consistency levels. The online questionnaires were technology-mediated and included questions accompanied by photos and videos demonstrating food consistency tests. Content validity was calculated both at the item level and at the overall level. Results: The mean content validity of the web stories and evaluative questionnaires exceeded the minimum value considered acceptable in the literature (> 0.80). The judges in this study agreed that the web stories facilitated understanding and learning in the identification of consistencies. Conclusion: It was possible to provide the scientific community with innovative tools, supported by content-based validity evidence, that will contribute to health literacy, the management and rehabilitation of dysphagia, as well as the training of professionals involved in the care of this condition.
