Abstract
Objective: To know the epidemiological profile of reported dengue cases in the state of Goiás during the years 2019 to 2024. Methods: This is a cross-sectional, descriptive, analytical and retrospective research, using a quantitative methodology for data analysis, with a survey of confirmed cases of dengue in the last five years available on the Department of Informatics platform of the Unified Health System, which contains the general quantity of data provided by the Information System for Diseases and Notification. Results: In the last five years, 137,807 cases of dengue in patients up to 14 years of age were reported in the state. During this period, the year 2024 accounted for the majority of the number of cases (n = 23,444), followed by the year 2022 (n = 14,348). However, it was followed by a decrease in 2023 (n = 4,634). Conclusion: The present study provides a comprehensive analysis of the epidemiological profile of dengue in children in the state of Goiás between 2019 and 2024. The results reveal a worrying scenario, with more than 130 thousand reported cases of the disease and 55 deaths registered in this population group.
