Abstract
Objective: To report cases related to Buschke's Scleredema, a rare disease, and discuss them by correlating with data from the literature and highlighting their particularities. Case detail: The cases described are about two patients, siblings, with a history of multiple comorbidities, including Metabolic Syndrome and Diabetes Mellitus Type 1 with poor glycemic and metabolic control. They were diagnosed with Scleredema of Buschke type III, suggested by clinical history, physical examination, and confirmed by histopathological analysis of a fragment obtained from biopsy of the affected area. Metabolic control of the comorbidities was encouraged as a therapeutic proposal, despite low adherence. Final considerations: Scleredema of Buschke still counts with insufficient research and dissemination in the medical literature. It is a condition that is frequently underdiagnosed and unknown to many healthcare professionals, and is rarely investigated in patients with Diabetes Mellitus. Therefore, the dissemination of cases such as those described is essential to expand knowledge on the subject, enable proper differential diagnosis, and encourage research into therapeutic approaches for this condition.
