Abstract

Objective: To analyze the effects of physical exercise on the health and well-being of women during menopause, taking into account the physiological, emotional, and social aspects that profoundly impact this hormonal phase and influence their quality of life. Literature review: Regular physical exercise, especially aerobic and resistance training, contributes to the reduction of symptoms such as hot flashes, sleep disturbances, and mood changes, while promoting benefits to bone, cardiovascular, metabolic, and hormonal health. Recent studies also indicate positive effects on body composition, cognitive function, and self-esteem, favoring greater quality of life, functional independence, and psychological well-being. Final considerations: Physical exercise is a non-pharmacological, effective, safe, and accessible intervention that should be encouraged as an essential part of comprehensive care for climacteric women, with a preventive and humanized approach capable of minimizing the negative impacts of this period and promoting active and healthy aging.
