Abstract
Objective: To construct diagnostic titles through a bank of special perioperative nursing language terms in women with breast cancer based on the Wanda Horta Theory. Methods: This is a quantitative research of a descriptive-exploratory and documentary nature that makes use of the terminological method. The population consisted of 73 women diagnosed with breast cancer through their medical records and 20 nurses in the surgical unit, oncology outpatient clinic and researchers. Two semi-structured instruments were used, one to describe the nurse's care in care and the other based on the NANDA Taxonomy-I with the expert nurses for validation of the terms. Results: The following terms are related to women with perioperative breast cancer, validated by the terminological method and not identified in Taxonomy II based on Wanda Horta's Theory: food intolerance, runny nose, lymphedema, edema, contact, dryness and menopause, illness, anguish, asthenia, agitation, care, loss, paresthesia, conflicting, confident, resignifying, emotionally fragile, and acceptance and spiritual support. Conclusion: The diagnostic titles for perioperative nursing care for women with breast cancer are valid and reliable in the insertion of Terminology II of the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association - I.
