Abstract
Objective: To describe the role of nurses in identifying and providing care for intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy. Methods: This research used an integrative literature review, a rigorous method that gathers and critically analyzes theoretical and empirical evidence, promoting evidence-based nursing practice. This approach was applied to consolidate knowledge about intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy and inform nurses' actions regarding the condition. Data collection took place in the LILACS, BDENF, and PubMed databases, using specific descriptors, considering publications from 2020 to 2025 and applying defined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Ethical considerations were respected, in accordance with CNS Resolution 466/12. Results: The search was conducted in the BDENF, MEDLINE, and LILACS databases, using descriptors combined with the "AND" operator, resulting in 285 articles. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, only 7 articles met the research objectives. Final considerations: IHCG is a rare liver condition that requires early diagnosis, bile acid monitoring, and appropriate management to prevent maternal and neonatal complications. There is a scarcity of national studies on the topic, highlighting the need for further research to strengthen nursing practice and performance in the face of this disease.
