Abstract

Objective: To report the experience of medical students in an intrerdisciplinary educational outreach project and describe its impact on their academic training. Experience report: The telehealth outreach project provides medical, nursing, nutrition, pharmacy, and physical therapy students with practical experiences that contribute to interprofessional training. It has been observed that interaction with the community, even remotely, allows for the development of diagnostic and management skills, as well as a patient-centered approach, integrating clinical aspects and social determinants. Regardless of the virtual environment, clear and collaborative communication promotes more effective and humanized care. Therefore, participation in projects of this nature is essential to enhance academic training and prepare future professionals for the challenges of the Unified Health System (SUS). Final considerations: The project provided a more comprehensive education for participants, encouraging collaboration and multidisciplinarity among healthcare professionals. Integration within the SUS context contributed to the integration of teaching, service, and community.
