Abstract

Objectives: To explore scientific advances related to the use of exosomes in skin regeneration, with emphasis on their bioactive components, biomedical applications, and future perspectives in regenerative aesthetics. Literature review: Analysis of studies indicates that exosomes, especially those derived from mesenchymal stem cells, transport bioactive microRNAs, proteins, and lipids capable of modulating inflammatory pathways, stimulating fibroblasts, promoting collagen and elastin synthesis, and favoring angiogenesis. These effects contribute to accelerated healing, reduced scar formation, and improved skin rejuvenation parameters. Preliminary clinical studies demonstrate favorable results when associated with procedures such as microneedling and fractional lasers. However, challenges persist related to the standardization of isolation methods, purity, therapeutic dose, and long-term safety. Final considerations: In conclusion, exosomes represent an innovative resource for aesthetic and biomedical applications; however, their clinical consolidation requires advances in research, standardization of protocols, and strengthening of available scientific evidence.
