Abstract

Objective: To validate the content of a protocol for the indication and monitoring of oral and enteral nutritional therapy in oncology patients in palliative care. Methods: A descriptive methodological study used the AGREE II instrument for validation by 8 expert judges (nutritionists). Results: All six domains of AGREE II achieved high adequacy scores, exceeding the cutoff point of 60%, with percentages ranging from 90.10% (Applicability) to 98.58% (Clarity of Presentation). The protocol was considered valid, demonstrating high credibility and feasibility of implementation. Suggestions for corrections included the formalization of a review schedule (maximum of 3 years), the inclusion of specific quality indicators, and the formalization of a Conflict of Interest Declaration. Conclusion: The validated protocol is an essential tool for standardizing and improving the quality of nutritional care in the CACON (High Complexity Oncology Center), promoting evidence-based practices centered on patient autonomy.
