Abstract

Objective: To analyze, through a literature review, the clinical and aesthetic aspects of single-tooth implant rehabilitation in the anterior region, with emphasis on the importance of gingival conditioning and proper soft tissue management to achieve predictable and satisfactory aesthetic outcomes. Literature review: The selected studies demonstrate that aesthetic success in anterior single-tooth implants depends on multiple factors, such as multidisciplinary planning, correct three-dimensional implant positioning, periodontal biotype, bone volume, and the quality of peri-implant soft tissues. Gingival conditioning techniques, associated or not with bone regeneration procedures and keratinized mucosa augmentation, contribute to the development of a natural emergence profile and to the long-term stability of the tissues. It is also observed that patients' aesthetic perception may differ from clinical evaluation, highlighting the importance of patient-reported outcomes. Final considerations: It can be considered that gingival conditioning is an essential step in aesthetic rehabilitation with single-tooth implants in the anterior region, promoting improved aesthetic outcomes, greater clinical predictability, and long-term maintenance of peri-implant health.
