Abstract

Objective: To describe the prevalence of emotional symptoms and their association with demographic variables and health conditions in primary health care workers. Methods: A cross-sectional, non-probabilistic, convenience study was conducted in 2025 at a Family Health Unit in Porto Velho, Rondônia, with 78 workers. A sociodemographic questionnaire and the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale 21 items (DASS-21) were used. Associations were analyzed using multiple logistic regression. Results: The prevalence was 62.8% for depression, 66.7% for anxiety, and 52.6% for stress. Depression was associated with living alone, sleeping less than eight hours, having a medical certificate in the last year, using controlled medication, and having atypical children. Anxiety was associated with young age, another employment relationship, and less sleep time. Stress was associated with double shifts, medication use, and sick leave. Conclusion: A high prevalence of emotional symptoms was observed, indicating a need for institutional actions to promote mental health.
