Abstract
Objective: To evaluate health-related quality of life in women with breast cancer undergoing treatment at the High-Complexity Oncology Care Unit (UNACON) in Tucuruí, Pará, Brazil, analyzing the relationship between age and the biopsychosocial domains measured by the SF-36. Methods: This was a cross-sectional, descriptive, and quantitative study conducted between March and November 2025b, involving 29 women diagnosed with breast cancer and receiving active treatment at UNACON Tucuruí. Data were collected through individual interviews using the SF-36 questionnaire. Statistical analysis was performed using Jamovi software version 2.6.26, adopting a significance level of p ≤ 0.05. Results: No significant correlation was found between age and quality of life domains. However, strong associations were observed between pain and functional capacity, as well as between physical and emotional limitations and social functioning, indicating interdependence among biopsychosocial dimensions. Conclusion: Participants’ quality of life was more strongly influenced by physical, emotional, and social factors than by chronological age, reinforcing the need for integrated approaches in oncological care. As a limitation, the small sample size should be highlighted.
