Abstract

Objective: To evaluate an educational intervention on happiness, spirituality, and human flourishing at work among managers and professionals of the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS), analyzing meanings and practical applicability attributed to the experience. Methods: A descriptive mixed-methods study conducted in 2025 in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. The intervention consisted of a 40-hour hybrid course (28 in-person and 12 distance-learning hours) for professionals from the Recife Municipal Health Department. Thirty-two professionals participated, and 15 completed the final evaluation. Quantitative data were analyzed using absolute and relative frequencies, and qualitative data through thematic content analysis. Results: The training was rated as very good by 86.7% and good by 13.3% of respondents. For 93.3%, the theme was considered very or extremely relevant. All participants reported contributions and applicability in the workplace. Perceived effects extended to professional practice and personal life (86.7% each), as well as to life in society (93.3%). Main topics of interest included mental health, emotional intelligence, and happiness at work. Conclusion: The intervention showed high acceptability and perceived applicability, with institutional challenges in sustaining changes in daily work practices.
