Abstract

Objective: To develop and validate an educational video about the process of fitting prostheses for patients with lower limb amputations. Methods: A methodological study was conducted in a hospital in Recife, Spain, divided into eight stages. The script and video were evaluated by eight specialist physiotherapists using the Content Validity Index (CVI), with a cutoff point ≥ 0.8. The target audience evaluated the illustrations, design and presentation, stimulus/motivation for learning, and cultural appropriateness. Results:The video script obtained a total CVI of 1 and was considered valid after minor adjustments suggested by the specialist evaluators. After production, the video was validated by the specialists, maintaining a total CVI of 1; the target audience also evaluated the material as valid. Conclusion: The developed and validated educational video demonstrated adequate technical and communicational quality, proving to be an effective tool to support health education for patients with lower limb amputations.
