Abstract

Objective: To identify lncRNAs associated with chemotherapy resistance in cervical cancer (CC). Methods: This study is a systematic literature review conducted in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. The protocol was previously registered in the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO) under the code CRD42023432017. Searches were performed in databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Web of Science, resulting in the selection of 21 articles published between 2017 and 2023. Results: The findings highlighted that 19 lncRNAs are implicated in resistance to four chemotherapeutic agents, including GAS5, which was the target of the greatest number of studies. These lncRNAs are involved in resistance to paclitaxel (PTX), 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), and doxorubicin (DTX). Final considerations: These results underscore the importance of lncRNAs as potential markers of treatment response and suggest that miRNA-mediated regulation may directly influence biological pathways that are frequently dysregulated in cancer.
