Abstract

Objectives: To define the epidemiological profile of leptospirosis in Bragança, Pará, from 2014 to 2023, and to correlate it with climate conditions and environmental disasters. Methods: This is a cross-sectional, descriptive, analytical, and retrospective study that analyzed the databases: SINAN, INMET, and the Digital Atlas of Disasters in Brazil. The main area of study is the municipality of Bragança, considering the cases of leptospirosis according to the variables age, sex, race, education, possible infection environment, and case progression, as well as precipitation, temperature, and environmental disasters. The Shapiro-Wilk Test and Simple Linear Regression were used to evaluate the association between the variables. Results: 46 cases were reported between 2014 and 2023, with a higher prevalence among men, mixed-race individuals, aged 20-39, who progressed to recovery and reside in urban areas; educational level showed reporting gaps. There were 6 environmental disasters, and 2023 stood out for the highest maximum (32.73ºC) and minimum (20.7ºC) temperatures, while 2019 had the highest precipitation (311.25mm). The statistical tests did not confirm a relationship between the variables. Conclusion: The epidemiological scenario of the municipality is similar to the national one; however, there were limitations regarding the quality of the provided data.
