Abstract
Objective: To synthesize evidence from the literature on tools used for the clinical assessment of fatigue in individuals with Crohn's Disease. Methods: The present study refers to a scoping review developed in accordance with the JBI Manual for Evidence Synthesis and the PRISMA-ScR checklist, employing the PCC strategy. The LILACS, MEDLINE/PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and BDENF databases were searched, as well as academic repositories, resulting in the inclusion of 11 studies. Results: The data indicate that fatigue in Crohn’s disease has a multifactorial origin, being associated with disease activity, as well as immunological, psychological, and emotional factors, in addition to sleep disturbances. The prevalence of fatigue may reach approximately 47% among patients in remission and up to 72% during the active phase of the disease. Final considerations: Fatigue directly impacts the quality of life and well-being of individuals living with Crohn's Disease across multiple dimensions. Even though validated instruments exist to assess fatigue, it is rarely measured in clinical practice.
