Abstract

Objective: To investigate pain perception in women diagnosed with adenomyosis. Methods: This is an observational, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, conducted in the municipality of Várzea Alegre, Ceará. For the study, women diagnosed with adenomyosis by ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging, aged between 18 and 50 years, were considered. Data were collected through an online form and analyzed using the GraphPad Prism program. Results: The research was conducted with 15 women who had a confirmed diagnosis of adenomyosis, evaluated using structured and standardized instruments. The collected information was grouped into sociodemographic data and data on the pain perception of women with adenomyosis. Conclusion: The results of this study reveal that young women, in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability and frequently exposed to barriers to access to specialized services, are widely affected by the disease. The study also highlights important disparities related to education, occupation, income, and access to information, demonstrating how social determinants of health directly influence the diagnosis and management of adenomyosis.
