Abstract
Objective: To analyze the scientific evidence regarding physiotherapeutic interventions in infants with plagiocephaly associated with postural alterations, as well as their clinical outcomes. Methods: This is an integrative literature review of a descriptive nature, conducted through searches in the PubMed, PEDro, BVS/LILACS, SciELO, and BIREME databases. Studies published between 2021 and 2026, in Portuguese and English, were included. The selection of studies was performed after applying previously defined eligibility criteria, resulting in a final sample of nine articles. Results: The analyzed evidence indicates that conservative interventions, such as repositioning and caregiver guidance, are effective, especially when initiated early. Manual therapies demonstrated positive effects in reducing cranial asymmetries, particularly when combined with conservative approaches. The use of cranial orthoses proved effective in moderate to severe cases or in the absence of response to initial treatment. Overall, early intervention was identified as a determining factor for better clinical outcomes. Final considerations: Physiotherapy is essential in the management of positional. plagiocephaly, promoting correction of cranial asymmetries and prevention of complications, with better outcomes associated with early intervention.
