Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the influence of cleaning with different cleaning tablets on the surface roughness of occlusal plates made of PMMA by additive CAD/CAM printing, discussing the possible implications for clinical durability. Methods: Fifty samples (N=50) measuring 2x2 cm were made of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) using the additive CAD/CAM printing process, divided into Control Group (CG), Corega Tabs 3 minutes (G1), Corega Tabs Whitening (G2), Efferdent (G3), and Kin Oro (G4), with ten samples for each group. A 6-month simulation of use was performed, based on the action time of each cleaning tablet. Results: The Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test was used, followed by the Kruskal-Wallis test. There were no significant changes in the roughness of the occlusal plates after cleaning with the cleaning tablets (p > 0.05 for all measurements). Conclusion: The use of cleaning tablets for hygiene does not cause significant changes in the surface roughness of the PMMA plates, suggesting good compatibility of the material under the laboratory conditions evaluated.
