Abstract

Objective: To analyze the barriers faced by health professionals in identifying and reporting cases of violence agaisnst womwn within health services. Methods: This integrative review was conducted using the PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, CINAHL, and EMBASE databases, guided by the Population, Interest, and Context (PICo) framework. The selected studies included publications from 2013 to 2025 in Portuguese, English, or Spanish. Study selection was performed independently by two reviewers. Results: Seventeen articles were included. The main barriers identified included the absence of the topic in professional education and training, limited knowledge and lack of skills or competencies, organizational, institutional, and systemic limitations within healthcare services, as well as ethical, relational, and sociocultural challenges in the reporting process. Final considerations: In some countries, ethical disagreements are influenced by communication with police authorities. In Brazil, in addition to the previously identified divergences, the reporting form is restricted to epidemiological surveillance purposes, which may contribute to the disconnect between the health and public security sectors.
