Abstract

Objective: To analyze the applicability of interventions from the Nursing Interventions Classification for the nursing diagnosis “Decreased ability to dress” in women who underwent mastectomy. Methods: This methodological study was conducted in three stages: identification of nursing interventions reported by clinical nurses, cross-mapping with the NIC, and content validation by experts. Data were analyzed using the cross-mapping method. After expert assessment and refinement, the Item-Level Content Validity Index (I-CVI) was calculated. Results: Nine of the 11 interventions evaluated for the diagnosis “Decreased ability to dress” in women who underwent mastectomy achieved an I-CVI of 0.80 or higher. Conclusion: Nursing interventions should be implemented early in the postoperative period after mastectomy, considering pain-related limitations and each woman’s individual needs. The Nursing Process strengthens professional practice; however, further institutional and scientific efforts are required to support its implementation in this context.
