Abstract
Objective: To identify evidence on the use of digital technologies for the prevention and surveillance of Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) in Intensive Care Units (ICUs). Methods: An integrative literature review was conducted using the PubMed, Virtual Health Library (VHL), and LILACS databases, including studies published between 2018 and 2025. After applying the eligibility criteria, 15 studies were included, and the data were analyzed through descriptive synthesis and IRaMuTeQ software. Results: The findings demonstrated an increasing use of clinical dashboards, automated systems, artificial intelligence, and predictive models for epidemiological surveillance and clinical decision support, improving adherence to prevention bundles and enabling the early identification of infection risks. Limitations related to interoperability, fragmented systems, and the predominance of retrospective audits were also identified. Conclusion: The identified digital technologies show potential to expand epidemiological surveillance and clinical decision support in ICUs, but studies specifically evaluating continuous auditing of adherence to HAI prevention bundles remain scarce, revealing a gap between predictive systems and their application to monitoring care processes.
