Abstract
Objective: To analyze the challenges and perspectives of multiprofessional practice in the humanization of hospital care and in promoting comprehensive health care. Methods: An integrative literature review with a descriptive design and qualitative approach was conducted in national and international databases, including studies published between 2016 and 2025 in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. The selection included studies related to humanization, person-centered care, multiprofessional collaboration, and the hospital context. Data were organized and analyzed thematically. Results: The sample consisted of ten studies conducted in different countries and hospital settings. The findings showed that welcoming practices, effective communication, patient and family participation, multiprofessional rounds, and shared decision-making strengthen comprehensiveness and the care experience. However, challenges persist, including work overload, hierarchical relationships, physician-centered decision-making, fragmented communication, language barriers, and insufficient institutional support. The analysis resulted in three categories: humanization, welcoming practices, and person-centered care; communication and multiprofessional collaboration; and institutional and relational challenges. Final considerations: Hospital humanization depends on the integration of relational competencies, collaborative practice, and organizational support, requiring continuing education, participatory management, and recognition of the different professional categories to consolidate humanized care within health services.
