Abstract
Objective: To analyze publications focused on the importance of systematizing perioperative nursing care in a surgical center, bringing an updated definition of their role, space of action before the surgical patient and the reflection in the care process. Methods: This is an integrative review, where 5 national studies were selected, taken from the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Nursing Database (BDENF) and Virtual Health Library (VHL / LILACS) databases. Results: It was observed that a large part of the articles report the nurse's deficiency and difficulties with regard to the application of SAEP. The safety of patients and the guarantee of quality care to the population is a problem worldwide. In order to avoid negative interferences in health care, strategies have been developed that aim at this promotion, to be carried out in a comprehensive and individualized manner with the intention of helping in the patient's surgical safety process. Final Considerations: The importance of this system in the recovery of the patient was verified. Therefore, it is necessary to approach this topic in order to collaborate with future studies.
