The documents were analyzed at the Fórum da Comarca de Passos and Tribunal Regional Federal de Passos. Results: 139 lawsuits involving access to medicines were analyzed which showed that the Public Attorneys and Public Defender's Legal Services were the main types of representation. The State of Minas Gerais was the entity most required for the supply of medicines. In total, 265 items were identified corresponding to 101 active ingredients, and rivaroxaban was the most demanded drug. 30.7% of the medicines are included in the Relação Nacional de Medicamentos Essenciais and 29.5% of the medical prescriptions were not filled correctly. Conclusion: Medicines represent a large ammount of lawsuits and those with higher demands are not included in official lists. There is a need for medical improvement on filling out prescriptions and new strategies to deal with the judicialization of health.
