Abstract
Objective: To identify through a narrative review the existing treatments and their results in Istmocervical Incompetence. Bibliographic review: Istmocervical Incompetence is a clinical condition that determines the fragility of the cervical matrix occlusive system, so that the cervix does not remain closed, not holding the product of conception until the end of pregnancy. Its overall incidence is 4.5: 1,000 births. Clinical diagnosis is the most widely used, with imaging diagnosis as an ally. The treatment of Istmocervical Incompetence can be clinical or by surgical techniques and will depend on the moment when the diagnosis is made and the patient's clinical conditions. Final considerations: Based on the above, isthmocervical incompetence affects patients who have congenital, acquired or post-traumatic abnormalities in the cervix. There are surgical and non-surgical methods for treating this condition, however, we must consider that each patient should be treated individually, considering their clinical condition.
