Abstract

Objective: Analyze health promotion actions in the Family Health Strategy. Methods: Quantitative descriptive research, carried out with 331 users from 11 Family Health Units in a municipality in Bahia in 2018. For data collection, a semi-structured questionnaire was used, composed of questions related to socioeconomic, socio-environmental and health aspects. Results: The user of the Family Health Strategy little perceives the proximity of professionals in their daily lives, in addition to the low resolution of the service, especially in health promotion actions in the territory, given the low evidence of health education activities that address important themes for the promotion of environmental health and overcoming socio-environmental challenges in the territory, such as the infectious diseases associated with the environment. It was found that the work is still focused on curative care methods, characterized by actions in a territory essentially defined by geographical limits. Conclusion: It is essential that the community environment is incorporated into the practices of professionals, so that the territory is a tool combined with the production of health and not reproductive of assistance focused only on biological and pathological aspects.
