Abstract

Objective: Report the contributions of nursing records in the audit processes in health and in the qualification of care provided to the patient in intensive care unit. Experience Report: The report was made through systematic observation in the intensive care unit of a private network hospital located in Brasília-DF. The periods of observation occurred in two distinct moments, where through meeting, it was promoted exposition and analysis of the health management reports through the department of audit to the health professional responsible for the nursing records. It was noticed a significant evolution after the first meeting, that through in-service education, the nursing records became more consistent, having a direct impact on the assistance given to the patient and also to the health auditing service. Final Considerations: Through the experience it was possible to identify a strong influence of the nursing registers in the process of audit in health, besides the expressive correlation with the improvement of the assistance given by the nursing professionals. Finally, the study presents limitations, since there was no possibility to attend the subsequent meetings, so that it was possible to make a more comprehensive comparison involving several consecutive months.
