Abstract

Objective: To analyze the importance of continuing education in the training process of health professionals. Methods: a qualitative descriptive approach is used and the bibliographic review is used to analyze the legal frameworks and scientific papers published in the SciELO database (Cientifc Electronic Library Online). Results: Based on the analysis made, it was evidenced that the perspectives of the Permanent Education Policy in Health and the implementation of the premises of the DCN for the training of the health workers recognize the educational potential of the work spaces, making possible a formation contextualized with the real ones health needs. Final considerations: For the health professionals, it was necessary to articulate the training institutions with the different levels of management, so that the construction of processes of permanent education could be favored, offering training and reflection, in view of the near realities of action. The regulations make up a framework for the formation of a health professional who is active, reflective, critical of the daily relations of his work, doing training in health, without ceasing to be supportive.
