Abstract
Objective: To report the elaborating an educational technology, in the form of guideline, for the orientation of patients with elimination stomas. Experience report: The guideline was elaborated from the experience in the internship of nursing students. During it, it was observed the need to provide written information to patients with stoma, because they had difficulty in retaining the informations given during nursing consultations. Initially, a bibliographic survey and script-making were carried out. In the guideline was made a description of stoma, stoma patients' rights, digestive and urinary system, stoma types, food, skin care and colostomy bag care, bag exchange step-by-step, main complications and care advices. Final consideration: A well-prepared guideline with correct information and accessible language to the target audience helps promoting health and preventing stoma complications.
