Abstract
Objective: To carry out an integrative review of the literature, in relation to the use of possible medications for the prophylactic treatment for COVID-19. Methods: An integrative literature review was carried out, using databases for the collection of scientific articles. Results: Hydroxychloroquine associated or not, still does not show evidence of its benefit, the use of chloroquine improved in the imaging exams when they presented pneumonia, with the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province recommending the use of it, but it was not clarified the methodology used for the indication. Vitamin D has shown to be able to inhibit the activity of ECA2 which leads to a decrease in angiotensin || β-1b interferons have shown significant survival when used in the early stage of the disease, and alpha interferons associated with thymosin require further studies. The combination of Lopinavir-Ritonavir used with standard treatment has led to clinical improvement. Convalescent plasma still has uncertainties in its use. Final considerations: The medications used up to the current juncture for the treatment of COVID-19, still do not have consolidated scientific works to prove their true potential for the prophylactic treatment of the disease.
