Abstract

The objective of this study is to understand the families of children with chronic renal failure during readmissions. The survey was conducted in a general hospital, and public education, located within the State of São Paulo, with families of children with chronic renal failure who are at the time and who were readmitted willing to report their experiences through open interviews from the following question: "What an experience the readmission of a child with chronic kidney disease?" the speeches of the family were recorded on audiotape and later transcribed in full. The understanding of the speeches was given by the description of the experiments according to the adopted form of qualitative research - analysis of the situated-phenomenon structure which is based on phenomenology as a philosophical school. Despite the suffering that is experiencing the child's disease, the caregivers revealed the phenomenon of readmission through the individual involved: itself, the sick child, family, caregivers and other health team. Thus, supported by these new relationships, living companions will experience more optimistic now, sometimes less exciting, but always hoping for better days.
