Abstract
Objective: To analyze the effect of localized muscle endurance training in adolescents during a school year. Methods: The sample included 383 students (groups: intervention 186, control 197). The intervention group was subjected to a program that included muscular endurance exercises. The muscular endurance test used in the 1st and 2nd evaluation was modified pull-up test. Results: After training for muscular endurance in absolute values, pre-and post-test showed no significant difference in the time variable intra-group. However, changes occurred in the comparison groups (intervention and control) in variables type (school) and gender, with a predominance of muscular endurance in boys in both groups at post-test (p <0.05). Conclusion: The influence of intervention to improve muscular endurance was effective when compared to the control group for both sexes.
